How many passengers can we have on the boat?

All boat charters are limited to 13 passengers. Some boat rental companies have a lower maximum. For larger parties we can arrange multiple captains and boats. The captain is not part of the total passenger count.

Does my child count as a passenger?

Yes. All passengers count toward the total. Children under the age of 7 are required to wear a PFD life jacket for the entire trip.

What should we bring on our boat day?

Bring coolers, drinks, snacks, sunscreen, and towels if desired. No glass containers are allowed.

Can we be picked up from our dock?

Most of the time yes, depending on location. If dock pickup is not available, we can meet at a public dock or boat rental company.

Can I get help finding a boat rental?

Yes. We help guests find the right boat rental and have access to boats of all types, from pontoons to luxury yachts.

Will your captains drive our personal boat?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our licensed captains can operate all types of boats, including tritoons, cruisers, and luxury yachts.

Is it always two separate payments for captain and boat rental?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If renting a boat and hiring a captain, it legally must be two separate transactions per Coast Guard regulations.

Is it customary to tip?

Yes. Tipping your captain is customary and appreciated. We recommend bringing small bills for dock hands at restaurants and gas docks, typically 5 to 10 dollars per dock hand, and 10 to 15 percent at gas docks.

What happens if the weather is bad the day of our trip?

If there is lightning and storms the day of your trip, we will try to reschedule your time or date. If that cannot be accomplished, we will refund the captain deposit. If it is only raining with no lightning, the trip will still proceed.

How far in advance should we book our boat?

Weekends fill up quickly at Lake of the Ozarks, especially Fridays and Saturdays, so booking early is strongly recommended. We begin taking reservations each fall for the following year.

Do you provide life jackets?

Yes. Boat rental companies provide enough life jackets for each passenger. For children under 7, you may need to bring a properly fitted life jacket.

What are some of the must-see spots on Lake of the Ozarks?

Accepted Answer

Popular spots include Flower Pot Cove, Bagnell Dam, Party Cove, scenic bluffs, lakefront homes, quiet coves, lakeside restaurants, and pool bars. Your day on the water can be relaxed or lively depending on your preference.
